Mainline Natural Resources has added out own logging side. Our system has capability unique to the region serving clients with safe, productive, and low impact logging. Our logging system has less disturbance and less skid trail development than typical Appalachian logging. We are well suited to log salvage steep terrain timber from Hurricane Helene. Benefits of our system include preservation of forest health and forest productivity, reduced potential for sediment delivery to waterways, improved aesthetics, and less potential for the spread of invasive species. Primary extractions is through a shovel logger with a “tong thrower” package, with secondary extraction via log forwarder. We log with partial log suspension, and roadside landings are small, tidy, and free of debris.
